# Perplexity

> AI-powered web search and deep research

Perplexity powers your agent's ability to search the web and perform in-depth research. This is a platform-provided integration — no setup required.

## How to enable

Go to **Settings → Capabilities** to configure **Web Search** and **Deep Research** — both powered by Perplexity. Web Search is enabled by default.

## Web Search vs Deep Research

**Web Search** returns answers in seconds — ideal for quick facts, news, and lookups. **Deep Research** takes a lot longer but provides comprehensive analysis with extensive citations. See [Web Search & Research](/features/search) for a detailed comparison.

## Example use cases

* **Competitive Analysis** — "Do deep research on the competitive landscape for AI-powered customer support tools, and how it relates to our product"
* **News Monitoring** — "Every morning, find the latest news about our industry and post a summary to Slack"
* **Due Diligence** — "When you receive an email about a new lead, research their company and reply with a brief summary"
* **Market Research** — "What are the current trends in sustainable packaging? Include academic sources."

  The agent includes citation URLs in all responses. For deep research, be specific about what you're looking for — the more context you provide, the better the results.
